Welcome to MangoSplit. By accessing or using the MangoSplit mobile application, website, or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms.

2. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Promptly update your information if it changes
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

You may not use another person's account without permission. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3. Use of the Service

MangoSplit is an expense-tracking and bill-splitting tool. The Service helps you record shared expenses and track balances between users. MangoSplit does not process payments or transfer money between users.

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Submit false or misleading expense information with intent to defraud other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access or interact with the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

4. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service, including expense descriptions, group names, and profile information ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to use, store, and display it solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service.

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent that you have all rights necessary to submit it and that it does not violate any third party's rights.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, logos, text, graphics, and software, is owned by MangoSplit and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our prior written consent.

The MangoSplit name, logo, and related marks are trademarks of MangoSplit. You may not use them without our prior written permission.

6. Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with third-party services (such as Google, Apple, and Facebook for authentication). Your use of these third-party services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of any third-party services.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any balance calculations or expense records. You are responsible for verifying amounts and settling debts directly with other users.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MANGOSPLIT AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US (IF ANY) IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MangoSplit and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected].

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification) shall survive.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
